We'll learn about 3 flags throughout history that had plenty of green and blue on them!
Chattanooga
The first city to fly the green and blue flag was Chattanooga, Tennessee. The flag was designed in 1856 by a slave named William H. Tucker and is still flown today at City Hall.
The colors represent hope and freedom—two things that were lacking in the lives of slaves during that time period. The white star represents unity and hope for a better future, while the white stripe represents freedom from oppression and slavery.

The first documented use of this flag was on August 1st 1998, when it was hoisted for the first time at night during a meeting organized by members of local government bodies - councilors and deputies from various political parties - who were invited to discuss their opinions about how the new symbols should look like (and what they should be called).

The city was named after Queen Elena de Borbón, wife of Philip II of Spain, and it was established as capital of the Spanish colony for a brief time before being replaced by Caracas.
