Nigeria

The Nigerian flag is composed of green-white-green bands symbolizing farming wealth and national union. 

It was designed by Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi, a Nigerian student in London, at a time when Nigeria was set to gain full independence from the UK. 

Selected from nearly 3,000 entries, the flag stands out for its simple simplicity and powerfully symbolic design. Green stands for the country's agricultural bounty and natural resources, while white stands for unity and peace. 

Akinkunmi's white stripe in the original concept also depicted a red sun representing divine protection and guidance, but this was removed by the committee to keep the design simple. 

The flag was officially adopted on October 1, 1960, Nigeria's independence day, marking a new chapter in the country's history.

Rotterdam

The flag of Rotterdam is decorated in the colors of green and white, which have been used throughout the city's long history. 

Green refers to the medieval castle Wena's gardens and white to the River Rotte, which gives the city its own name. 

The city has a contemporary look with its smooth and efficient structure, its focus on the river and its post-war reconstruction, and is home to a great maritime heritage and the largest harbor in Europe.

This design was selected through a contest and a referendum for the new large town after the governance reform in Estonia. 

The hemp leaves means hemp in Kanepi and this was chosen by a popular vote of the majority of the local citizens. 

Kanepi Parish is a rural municipality in the Polvamaa region of Estonia and this symbol emphasizes the agricultural identity of the region.

The flag of the Free State of Coburg is white with green horizontal stripes and is analogous to the flag of the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg and Gotha, which was used from 1911 to 1920.

Today, Coburg is a region of the German state of Bavaria, rich in history and known for its cultural and historical heritage.
