Campus Couture: Ivy League Colors With Harvard Crimson to Princeton Orange

April 25, 2025

As democratized as knowledge has become, and as it moves from university chairs to the internet, some universities' diplomas are still as valuable as title deeds.

Welcome to this article where we examine the color palettes of these so-called Ivy League schools.

Are there any more valuable universities than the ones below? Of course there are. We have very valuable universities. You can also check out the university colors, where we list them all.

If you're ready, we fold the universities one by one like a college sweater and place them in a drawer with color palettes - here's to the campus tour!

Harvard University

Harvard colors

The foundation of Harvard University, which is seen as the history of the American education system, dates back to the early 1600s.

There is even a color name for this school that few of us have ever walked on its campus, but most of us know. Harvard Crimson color.

This is not only a color name, but also the name of the school's newspaper.

Harvard's primary colors are Crimson and Black, complemented by shades of gray.

Yale University

Before I say how much of a university this university is, I must add... Yale University has 14 dining halls.

The most popular is Durfee's, but I'm sure the other 13 aren't bad places either.

In addition to Yale Blue, green and yellow are also among the colors of Yale

Princeton University

Princeton colors

You may have heard the name Princeton from the Princeton orange, yes, but it's not just the color orange, it's one of the oldest universities.

In the 19th century, this color began to spread, and by the middle of the century it became official and became one of the main colors of Princeton

University of Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania colors

Pennsylvania has two primary colors: Penn Red and Penn Blue. Founded by Benjamin Franklin to promote the common good, the university has been one of America's oldest universities since the 17th century. It is a slightly darker color than the crimson at the top of the list.

Columbia University

Columbia colors

Columbia Blue (#B9D9EB) is the foundation of Columbia University's official colors, delivering a uniform identity from campus buildings to sports uniforms.
The darker Primary Blue (#1D4F91) is used to increase the legibility of the brand, especially on digital and printed materials.

Dartmouth College

Dartmouth colors

Symbolizing the identity of Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Green (#00693E) was inherited from the first football jerseys in 1866 and has kept the trademark “forest” hue alive ever since, along with the college's crest.

Brown University

Brown colors

Dark Brown (#4E3629) and accented Red (#C00404), the signature Brown University color, creates a rich tonal unity referred to in the brand guide as “College Hill Chocolate”.

Sometimes, homework may not be as sweet as chocolate, and making your work grammar proof with writing services can be a good option

Cornell University

Cornell colors

Cornell University's characteristic palette of Carnelian Red (#B31B1B) and Cool Gray 11 (#55565A) colors the Ithaca skyline each evening with the red light rising from McGraw Tower.

We have come to the end of this blog post in which we have both explored Ivy colors and examined schools from a different perspective.

We will continue to improve our design language by exploring more shades.

Have a good week for now.
