Although grey can be associated with negative feelings, this is not the case here as you will discover in this article.
Finding good color combinations for grey can be difficult. I’ve scoured the internet and compiled a list of some of my favorite grey web colors along with the codes you can use in photoshop to download the swatch.
Grey Colors
Grey is a color that can be put to use in many different ways. While it might not always focus your attention on a particular subject, it gives the reader’s eyes a rest from the harshness of bright colors like red, yellow or white.
The serene feeling is often best suited for text blocks containing non-controversial material like poem lines or paragraphs of prose.
Light Gray Color
This is a color that I am using on my personal site design. I think the color suits well for the featured images along with any other type of images you may have. It is a lighter gray color and is very easy on the eyes. I think it will work for most websites just about anytime of year.
Dim Gray Color
Dim gray color is one such neutral color. The name by which it is commonly known comes from the fact that this color is the most dominant in nature when you look at almost anything from a distant place, whatever that particular thing is made up of just looks like some dot located in between the shades of gray.
Silver Color
Silver is a metallic chemical element with symbol Ag (from Latin: argentum) and atomic number 47. A soft, lustrous transition metal, it possesses the highest electrical conductivity of any element and is found in the Earth's crust in the pure, free element form.
Slate Color
Slate Color is such a captivating color. Slate is like the beauty of the forest that lies within Colorado's most beautiful areas. It's soft with the muted tones of grays and browns, while blending with the earthy green tones of moss and other forest floor plants. That said, this color is also timeless—one we expect to see in elegant settings for years to come.
Above, we examined the shades in detail. In the rest of the article, we will look at the applications of this color in different sectors.
Grey Color in Web Design
Recently, I have noticed the popularity of grey color in web design increasing dramatically. You may not have noticed but within the last few months Google has changed its logo and popular social site Twitter has also followed suit.
Some sites are using grey for the entire background; others are using dark grey or light grey for highlighting key sections of their site.
