While the red to purple rainbow flag is beloved and commonly referred to in digital culture, Quasar felt like something was missing.
He wanted his own version of the pride flag to show that more inclusiveness was needed within the community.
Red
The symbolism that is associated with the colors of each flag was designed to be seen from a distance and conveys a message.
Yellow
Yellow is a striking color that stands out in the pride flag. The color relates to the intense sunlight shone upon us during our pride events and reminds us of the warm sun we can enjoy on a nice day.
Blue
In the late 1960s, a group of activist groups in New York City conceived of the pride flag with eight colors for the movement.
The first flag designed by gay artist and activist Gilbert Baker featured a total of 36 stripes — 8 each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet; plus pink and black.
Orange
The orange flag representing the bisexual community was designed by Michael Page in 1999. The flag has a deep pink stripe at the top for homosexuality, a blue one on the bottom for heterosexuality, and a purple one — blending the pink and blue — in the middle to represent bisexuality.
