Blue represents the Pacific Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and the sky; white represents land and peace.
The five blue stars in the middle white stripe symbolize the five former states of Central America. In 2022, the flag's blue hue was updated to “turquoise”.
The old version had teal, but now our flag is brighter! The color codes are #00B2E3 and #FFFFFF, respectively. The flag's history began in 1866 with the addition of five stars and was updated to turquoise in 2022.
