Indiana's flag is famous for a golden torch on a blue background with stars around it. The torch is surrounded by an outer circle of 13 stars and an inner semicircle of 5 stars.

The 19th star is at the top of the torch, symbolizing Indiana joining the Union as the 19th state. The color blue (#002D72) represents the sky and represents freedom, while the color gold (#F7E04F) symbolizes national hope and wisdom. Designed by Paul Hadley in 1917, this flag is a great American design which symbolizes freedom and national unity.
