This flag is not just a piece of cloth, but represents the three sacred pillars that lie at the heart of Thailand: nation (red), religion (white) and royalty (blue).
The blue stripe in the center of the flag, twice as wide, shouts “I represent royalty, make way!”
The flag was adopted on September 28, 1917, so it has been flying Thailand's sovereign spirit for almost a century.
Each of the colors tells its own story: Red symbolizes the blood shed in the battle for independence, white the purity of Buddhism and blue the nobility of the royal family.
When you look at this flag, you can see all the splendor and all of Thailand's history at a glance. It's serious and fun, just the Thai way!
