Russia Colors
With its three horizontal stripes (white, blue, red), the flag of Russia presents an eye-catching tricolor spectacle.
Even the order of these colors is strategic: white represents purity and pacifism (you might have to dig a little to find Russia's peaceful side), blue symbolizes the heavens and God's care (of course, protection as broad as the blue sky), and red represents the blood shed in courage. Its history is as colorful as these colors!
The story of the flag begins in 1693 when Peter the Great became curious about European-style shipbuilding. When the ship he commissioned from the Netherlands came with the Dutch flag, Peter said, “Why don't we use a flag like that?” And thus, the white-blue-red chevron was born.
However, throughout history, the Russian flag changed to black-yellow-white colors and sometimes was banned altogether. Banned by the Bolsheviks in 1917, the flag returned in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union.
In short, the flag of Russia has gone through many changes over the course of its history, but finally took its place in the sky again. The flag is not just a piece of fabric, but a window into Russia's history and soul.
